Timisoara
Timisoara is one of the most important city in the west part of Romania, important historical, economic, financial and cultural centre. It is considered as an important comercial meeting point of the Occident and the Orient. Timisoara became famous for its beautiful parks and public gardens, walking squares and green spaces. The cultural scene is well represented by three important theaters:the Romanian, the German and the Hungarian ones and the Opera and the Philarmonica, also other important cinema or concert halls. The first certified document about Timisoara comes from 1266 when it was well known as Castrus Timisiensis. On the old maps it was mentioned beginning with 1339. |
